Happy Birthday Lizzy!

Dear little Lizzy turned 2 years old on Easter Day. She is such a sweet bright and happy little soul. At 2 years Lizzy is.......

• Chatting non-stop. There isn't much she doesn't seem to understand now. Her vocabulary keeps on exploding.
• She sings frequently usually Pooh Bear's "Expedition" or "Deep in the Hundred Acre Woods"
• She tries to whistle. Sometimes she can, but mostly she just sprays spit on us.
• She loves to watch Dora and Diego or Pooh Bear. She rarely watches anything else. She knows the songs and the lines by heart and talks to the tv.
• She doesn't get colours. "What colour is the pink car Lizzy?" "Green!" she says.
• She loves her sleep. A couple of hours in the middle of the day and not too bad at night. She only wakes once now. She is so easy to put down and even asks to go to bed some times, my kids have never done that. "Put me in bed please Mummy" and she makes a contented cooing sound. She still sucks her thumb when she's tired and she snuggles a 'teddy' (a cloth nappy) .....or three or four.
• She loves playing with her little figurines. Hand sized Dora, Diego, Boots, pirates, animals. She lines them up in neat rows and plays beautiful imaginary games with them. "Hold Diego's hand Dora" or "Sharing please Swiper" she says. I love listening to the conversations. Often she plays with them in the pirate ship, runs them up my legs or she plays at my feet on the floor.
• She adores her giraffe jammies. We even got a second pair. "Shh, giraffe's sleeping. Don't wake him up!" Sometimes she even wears the top to school. She is very attached to them.
• She is a little monkey. She scrambles up the climbing frames at school, down the big slides. There isn't much that she fears, although she is still a little cautious on the beams and asks for help "Mummy, my stuck."  (So cute that she says my instead of "I")
• She is very independent "My do it!" I have to watch her like a hawk because she isn't afraid to wander away from me and explore on her own.
• We're still working on the sharing. We have a long way to go ;)
• She LOVES books, especially Spot books. "Read with me. I get Spot book with little doors." She loves the lift the flap ones and luckily we have a large collection of them thanks to Nanny.
• She is a fruit monster. Any fruit is fine as long as there is lots of it.
• She likes to sit on the toilet. She really likes the toilet paper. She claps delightedly at her success. But she doesn't really get it, she just wants to be like her big cousin Linc and sit on the "big boy toilet" with her hands on her knees like she has observed him doing. I think it will be a long, drawn out process.
• She is such a bright happy kid. Always dancing and smiling that beautiful big smile. We love you Lizzy Nic!

 We had a combined Easter egg hunt and birthday party with out family to celebrate. She loved us singing to her and joined in with the words herself. She clapped when she blew out her candles. Ahh, too sweet!

A couple of scrapbook shares this month. Bec has been reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and we watched it one weekend for our family movie night. She became very persistant with the idea of wanting to try bubble gum like Violet in the movie. We tracked down some Hubba Bubba and had fun trying to blow bubbles. It was harder than I remembered. Too soft or something and we didn't manage to blow any big ones. Bec loved it though, and we all had a good laugh.

This one's about Will who has been interested in power lines for a good 6 months now. They made some electrical circuits at school last year and he talked non-stop about it for months (it's starting to slow down now). Every time we went anywhere in the car he gave a running commentary on the powerlines - where they were heading, the number of insulators, if they had 'loops' or not....we did quite a lot of research to try to answer all his questions. Poor Bec became so sick of having the same conversation on our trips to school. When he gets interested in something he really gets interested in it.
