Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you all! We had a wonderful day yesterday and are enjoying a quiet day at home this morning playing with new presents. Later we're going to the movies to watch Happy Feet 2 with Gran and Pop, it should be fun!

On Christmas Eve I asked Bec and Will to write out their wish list for Santa. We left this this with the plates of gingerbread cookies, carrots and milk so Santa knew he had the right house.

Will wrote "Dear Santa, can I have a bascetball hoop plese. Love Will." He explained to me that he had placed a tick in the boxes next to the lines with writing on them and a cross in the boxes where there wasn't any writing. It was important to him that he did that (I'm not quite sure why!)

Bec wrote "Dear Santa, may I please have a Budgie or a Canary for Christmas Love Bec"



On Christmas morning at 7.20am Daddy had to go in to give Will a poke because he was clinging to the bedcovers. Bec, and more importantly, Daddy, were getting impatient.

The kids ran into the lounge to and began opening their pressies. Good old Santa had left Bec a budgie like she asked. She is thrilled and has named him 'Charlie' That way she has all bases covered just in case Charlie isn't a boy after all. By the time she went to bed last night he was allowing her to stroke his belly, so we're hoping that he will train fairly quickly as she is itching to let him out of the cage to fly around. We need to buy a few locks for the doors on the cage today. Miss Lizzy is also keen for 'birdie come out?'



Will was very excited to receive the biggest present of all. Daddy and Pop spent the next hour putting his basketball hoop together for him.

Daddy had bought the kids a bee suit to share so they help him look after his bees. This is the smallest suit we could find, so it will swim on Will! They have been so interested in the bees, in fact Bec is out with him right now having her first close look at them.

Santa bought Lizzy a balance bike but unfortunately an integral component is missing so we will have to get that fixed before she can ride it. She was most interested in the 'spotties' (ladybirds) that were on it and putting her 'hat' (helmet) on. Bec gave her a Charley Bear which she has loved and taken to bed with her. She also loved her bag from Nan and Pop and a pink car from Gran and Pop and her ball that Will chose for her.

I have a couple of Chrissy layouts that I made for Scrapboutique using the October Afternoon "Holiday Style" collection. Miss Bec is currently sporting a massive gap in her smile at the moment, so the title for this page was the obvious one.

Aunty Lisa sent her a link to the YouTube version of the song and she has been singing her little heart out. Even Will knows it all now. I love that photo of her, it perfectly captures this stage of her life. Right now, the toothless 7 year old - at least I'm hoping that she will never have a gap like that again in her life!
